MANILA--The Azkals Development Team's PFL season ended on a high note on Monday after beating Stallion Laguna, 2-0, at the PFF National Training Centre in Carmona.

The ADT turned things around in the second half after dodging a bullet early on that saw Jhan-Jhan Melliza getting past Quincy Kameraad in the seventh minute only that Simen Lyngbo saved the play by clearing the ball out from just the goalmouth.

A crucial Stallion Laguna defensive lapse in the 52nd minute led to Yrick Gallantes getting a clear lane for the goal.

Nelson Gasic got a touch of Gallantes' shot, but Carlo Dorin got to the ball first and slotted it in to put the ADT up.

Jarvey Gayoso made it 2-0 after converting a penalty off a Balut Doctora foul on Gallantes inside the box.

With the win, the ADT momentarily took the second spot in the league table with nine points.

The Nationals can seal their finish if Kaya Iloilo fails to beat United City later Monday.

However, with the ADT considered a guest squad this season, Kaya Iloilo, which can reclaim second place with a win, will still enter the AFC Champions League qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Stallion Laguna remains stuck at one point, leaving the race for fourth place wide open with Maharlika Manila and Mendiola battling it out in the second match of the triple-header later Monday.

Stallion Laguna and Mendiola will still face off in the final match of the season on Thursday night.
