Ginebra cruises past Meralco in semis opener

MANILA--Ginebra made quick work of Meralco en route to a 96-79 Game 1 win in their PBA semifinal tie at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center on Wednesday night.

The Barangay banked on their solid defense all game long, holding the Bolts to less than 20 points in each of the first three quarters to set up the blowout.

Stanley Pringle led six Ginebra players in double figures with 19 points together with seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Scottie Thompson and Arvin Tolentino each added 13 points.

Allein Maliksi put up 24 points on 7-of-10 shooting including a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc, four rebounds, and one assist for Meralco.
