MANILA - Despite setbacks from their first game, MPL-MY/SG runners-up EVOS SG found their way to overturn a potential sweep as they won two games in a row against Orange Louvre Esports to close the first round of ONE Esports MPL Invitational on Saturday.

It was the rematch of the lower bracket final, which saw Orange Louvre fall again at the hands of the eventual second placers.

The Singaporeans began to pick their pace in the second game after losing the first game to their Malaysian foes despite earning more kills, 33 to 22, thanks to Chibi's Ling's 6/3/7 MVP performance.

EVOS SG main core Potato did what he does best as he carries his team to two straight victories, both coming at convincing fashion.

Potato's Yi Sun-shin's 6/1/11 performance propels EVOS to force a game three while only allowing Orange Louvre to score just eight.

Now with the Harith, Potato lifted EVOS SG to match against Ronin Esports on Sunday after a 20-12 game three in their favor while contributing to 75% of all EVOS kills.

EVOS SG's victory makes them one of the two remaining squad for the Malaysia-Singapore region together with champions Todak after Orange Louvre were booted out by the former, as well as Resurgence falling at the hands of Blacklist International.
