MANILA - Filipino contingent Execration becomes the first team to see the early door as they fall short against MPL-Myanmar's Ronin Esports to open the ONE Esports MPL Invitational on Friday.
Ronin's Silent... became the difference maker for both sides as he led the Burmese side to a reverse sweep after losing Game 1.
Rookie core Mark showed his potential for Execration as he led the MPL-PH third placers to a dominant 16-3 win with his Ling doing five kills and five assists.
However, that was the last hurrah for the Pinoy MLBB stable as Silent...'s Saber did the trick in the second game with a 9/2/8 performance.
Despite lacking a true tank hero, Naomi provided a tank-like performance with his Jawhead while dealing 12 assists to his side.
Execration went to an all-out attack in the rubber match with Mark and Kelraaa revealing a Lancelot and a Benedetta while Ronin opted for a double-tank setup with Naomi and Savi. going for the Akai and Barats picks.
The latter paid well as they overturned a possible late-game catchup from Execration, who put a gallant 25-minute stand but to no avail as Silent... was too much to handle with a 8/1/3 showing from his Hayabusa.
Ronin will meet the winner between an all-MPL-MYSG showdown between Orange Louvre and EVOS Singapore.
