MANILA--Stallion Laguna's resilience paid off just in time.
Stallion Laguna fought back from an early Kaya Iloilo goal to snatch a point through a 1-1 draw in their PFL clash at the PFF National Training Centre in Carmona on Tuesday night.
Kaya Iloilo looked poised to walk away with the full three points after Jovin Bedic slotted in a 10th minute goal to put the club ahead as it dominated the first half.
But a different Stallion Laguna side showed up after the halftime break, threatening Mike Casas with two shots on target that he was forced to save.
Casas, who kept a clean sheet in Kaya Iloilo's first two matches, finally let one in as Jhan-Jhan Melliza scored off a cross volley in the 79th minute to eventually force the stalemate.
Stallion Laguna's defense held Kaya Iloilo to just one attempt all second half long.
While Kaya Iloilo momentarily took the solo top spot with seven points to show, it opened a chance for United City, which will play Maharlika Manila later Tuesday, to end the night at number one on points.
