MANILA—Being sidelined for a total of 14 months, Brandon Vera is aching to return to the One Championship circle for 2021.

In fact, he said on Monday that he would love to be in action more than once next year.

"I’m looking to fight twice a year," Vera said.

One motivation why he said so is the newest additions to the One family.

The mixed martial arts promotion beefed up its heavyweight division with new signings, some of which expressing their desire to challenge Vera for his championship belt.

"There are enough people that I want to compete against throughout the year to motivate me to go twice," he added.

For now, the newest heavyweights will have to sit at the sidelines as Vera is already booked to defend his One Championship gold against Arjan Bhullan.

However, Vera insists that he is ready to take on the new talents.

“I'm very much looking forward to all of the challenges and all of the challengers,” said Vera.
