MANILA--Have we just found out Manny Pacquiao's next opponent?

Unbeaten champion Ryan Garcia said on Monday that he is set to face Pacquiao next.

"A dream turned reality! It’s an honor to share the ring with Manny Pacquiao," Garcia claimed through Instagram.

However, should a showdown between Garcia and Pacquiao take place, a catchweight may be needed as both boxers are champions in two separate division especially if Garcia will eye Pacquiao's welterweight belt.

Garcia recently won the interim World Boxing Council lightweight title after knocking out Luke Campbell in Dallas.

Pacquiao, on the other hand, is the current World Boxing Association welterweight super champion, but he has yet to fight since beating Keith Thurman for the said belt on July 21, 2019 (Philippine Time).

Another possible option is for both Garcia and Pacquiao to fight at the 140-pound junior welterweight division.

Meanwhile, despite seemingly announcing his next bout, Garcia has high regards for Pacquiao, who has done a lasting legacy in boxing.

"I will always respect what you did in and out the ring. Here’s to the best man winning," Garcia further said.

Interestingly enough, Garcia's post came a day after a rumored showdown between Pacquiao and Conor McGregor seemed to have fallen off after the latter's mixed martial arts loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.

Pacquiao's camp has yet to confirm if the match against Garcia is now good to go.
