MANILA--The cycling community is in sadness after Moe Chulani, one of the people who established Ronda Pilipinas, passed away on Sunday at age 45 due to cardiac arrest.

"It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our race chairman and longtime project director Moe Chulani," the country's premier cycling race series said in a statement.

With Chulani at the helm alongside his co-founders, Ronda Pilipinas has emerged into the most anticipated cycling event every year.

Due to his league's success, Chulani was elected into the Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines board.

“He’s a loss in the cycling community. He’s very dedicated to cycling,” current PhilCycling chief Bambol Tolentino said.

Chulani's first front office job was when he was named the first team manager of the Pasig Blue Pirates when they were still in the MBA.
