MANILA--If plans will commence, the PBA may still hold an import spiced conference for the upcoming PBA season.

Commissioner Willie Marcial said on Thursday that the reinforced conference that could take place in the 46th season starting April 9 may come in the form of the league's third conference in the calendar.

"Baka Governors' Cup [ang lalaruin]," Marcial said at the resumption of the Usapang Sports Forum of the Tabloid Organization in Philippine Sports.

In the Governors' Cup, teams can bring in one foreign reinforcement of at most six-feet-five in height.

However, he is not ruling out the possibility of holding the other import conference, the Commissioner's Cup, as well especially if the COVID-19 situation in the Philippines and the United States eases up further with the vaccines already made available for emergency use.

"Pipilitin namin kung kakayanin, three conferences," Marcial further said.

But he once again assured that as much as possible, two conferences will take place this season.

On the protocols to be set once a foreign recruit arrives amid the pandemic, Marcial said, "Titignan namin if papayag sila doon at ano ang quarantine na hihingiin ng government."

However, he admitted that he still lacks the needed information to clarify matters further especially that some national and local government units are just beginning to procure the vaccines.

Marcial then said that the second conference of the season may begin by August the soonest if plans hold.
