MANILA—A good mix of regional basketball players in the domestic and international circuits will pace the Talisay squad in the inaugural season of the VisMin Super Cup.

The Aquastars were launched on Thursday in the said city.

Leading the squad is veteran Paulo Hubalde, who first played professional basketball in the PBA before starring for Alab Pilipinas in the ABL and the Valenzuela Classic in the MPBL.

Hubalde actually brought some Valenzuela allies along to the Talisay team in Jaymar Gimpayan, Cebuano native Kevin Villafranca, and Mel Mabigat.

Cebuano native Patrick Cabahug, who like Hubalde introduced himself to the play-for-pay circuit through the ABL and the MPBL, will also join the Aquastars.

Val Acuña also bolsters Talisay with MPBL vets Lordy Casajeros, Zyron Cudal, Allan Santos, and Jhaymo Eguilos.

Egie Mojica, who starred for the Cavite Ballers in the NBL last season, was also tapped to the Aquastars.

Former Mapua player Darrell Menina was also signed up to them, assuring that he will get to play for his hometown.

"Excited ako na ma-represent ang hometown ko," Menina said in the said press launch.

Completing the roster are Tristan Albina, Joshua Dela Cerna, and Lugie Cuyos.

Former MPBL coach Aldrin Morante will mentor Talisay.
