MANILA—Despite losing arguably its greatest champion in Stephen Loman, Brave Combat Federation still has some Filipino firepower in it as the promotion announced the signing of Jenel Lausa.
Brave said on Friday that Lausa, a former mixed martial arts champion, agreed on an exclusive contract.
Lausa first made waves by becoming the PFC flyweight champion in 2016.
He would then compete in the UFC later in the year, where he beat Yao Zhikui of China.
However, Lausa lost his last three MMA fights, all in the UFC.
Since then, he concentrated on his budding boxing career, compiling an unbeaten record of 10 wins and one draw.
But Lausa took the entire 2020 off mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, he is giving MMA another try.
“Coming back to mixed martial arts is really something that I look forward to. I am very grateful for this opportunity, and I value the trust that BRAVE CF has given me. I am excited to represent my country once again on the global stage of mixed martial arts, and it is with great pride that my return to the sport will take place under the banner of BRAVE CF,” Lausa said.
