MANILA—James De Los Santos captured his ninth e-kata gold for the year in record setting fashion.
For the first time in his career, De Los Santos scored a 27 to edge Swiss opponent Matias Domont in the final of the Katana Intercontinental League #2.
As the Filipino world number one revealed on Monday, De Los Santos beat Domont, 27.44-26.32 to win it all.
"That's a new personal record for me!" De Los Santos said.
He first won a four-man semifinal with a 24.72, beating American Alfredo Bustamante (24.36), British David Brierly (22.26), and Frenchman Remi Bonneau (20.6).
