MANILA--It seems like Ray-Ray Parks' decision to take a leave of absence from TNT for the upcoming PBA season did not sit well to no less than team owner Manny Pangilinan.

The business executive called out the now embattled Tropang Giga winger on Saturday night by posting a picture that casts doubt on the real reason behind the latter's sudden break from play.

In a social media statement, Parks said that he is attending some family matters back in the United States, which was later revealed to be taking care of his mom.

But Pangilinan countered Parks' statement with a picture taken last month showing him and apparently a fan together in San Juan, La Union's surfing hub.

"I don’t see any mother being cared for, and as far as I know, La Union is nowhere near California," Pangilinan said.

He even called on the fans to weigh in on the picture and Parks' statement, saying, "Judge for yourself."

The Tropang Giga shared Pangilinan's statement in their social media accounts, further fueling what now looks like some tension between the tycoon--and maybe the entire team as well--and the former UAAP and ABL Most Valuable Player.

A source then told Dugout Philippines that Parks' mother, Marifer Barbosa-Parks, is actually doing fine back in California, which is not worrisome at all.

Later in the night, an Instagram video of surfing champion Roger Casugay showing Parks doing a battle ropes exercise went viral.

Casugay actually posted the video at around the same time Parks announced his leave of absence from TNT, which could mean Parks is still in San Juan at the moment.

On what really worries Parks is not definite right now, but this free agency drama is for sure not yet over.
