MANILA—One of the trades that have been in the rumor mill for quite some time has finally been consummated.

NorthPort dealt Chris Standhardinger to Ginebra in a straight-up one-for-one trade for Greg Slaughter.

The PBA trade committee announced the approval of the trade on Friday.

The trade rumor surrounding the two big men has been prevalent since last year, and it took a huge turn when Slaughter announced that he is taking a break from basketball.

Slaughter, however, was hardly missed as the Barangay captured the 2020 PBA title even if there were concerns in LA Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar's health statuses prior to the start of the bubble.

And it seemed like Slaughter is ready to return as he apologized with Ginebra's team management which they accepted to the point that Coach Tim Cone said that the team just re-signed the center to a new contract.

But the swap eventually happened.

Standhardinger will bolster a solid Barangay frontline led by Aguilar and Most Improved Player winner Prince Caperal.

Slaughter, on the other hand, will reunite with former Ginebra players Jervy Cruz and Kevin Ferrer among others at the Batang Pier camp.
