MANILA--The biggest PFL free agency question has been answered: Stephan Schrock is staying put with United City.
The midfielder announced on Thursday night that he has just re-signed with the reigning league champs, assuring that they will still have their captain come their much anticipated group stage debut in the AFC Champions League.
"I'm very happy and honored to continue to go down that path for another couple of years with United City," Schrock said in a statement on social media.
United City later revealed that the deal is actually longer than what he stated.
"Every team needs leadership and a strong captain and UCFC is proud to have one of the finest in the world of football on its roster for at least the next three seasons," the club said.
But if the 34-year-old Schrock is to be believed, there is a chance that he might even retire with the team that has been his home since 2016.
"I'm here to stay," he further said.
Schrock is the last holdover from last season that has been revealed to be staying.
Anthony Pinthus, Jun Badelic, Arnie Pasinabo, Pika Minegishi, Jordan Jarvis, Angelo Marasigan, Mike Ott, Sean Kane, Cholo Bugas, Bienve Maranon, Miggy Clarino, and Tristan Robles have earlier been revealed to be staying with United City this season.
All eyes are now on the club's new signings especially with a rumor swirling since last week that they signed South Korean defender Jung Da-Hwon.
