MANILA--The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas is now cleared to host the third window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers in Angeles.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque announced on Friday the Inter-Agency Task Force's approval of the bubble hosting as part of the IATF Resolution 114, which according to him was approved the day before.

"Inaprubahan ng IATF ang request ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas na mag-host ng FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers sa June 2021 sa ilalim ng bubble type setting sa Clark, Pampanga subject to health and safety protocols," Roque said in PTV's Sentro Balita.

The Philippines will be hosting the games for Groups A, B, and C.

Gilas Pilipinas is a part of Group A.

The Clark bubble clearance came in line with revisions on the protocols set for people traveling to the Philippines amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Mandatory na ang 14-day quarantine," Roque bared the first tweak to the rules set for arrivals.

He then said that the first 10 days will be for an "absolute facility quarantine."

"Pinapatupad ang strict symptom monitoring ng Bureau of Quarantine," Roque detailed how the facility quarantine would go.

Meanwhile, the remaining four days will be for home quarantine in the cities where they will go.

"Kinakailangan na magkaroon ng ugnayan sa lokal na pamahalaan para masigurado yung home quarantine sa natitirang apat na araw," Roque further said.

On the seventh day of their stay at quarantine facilities, the arriving travelers must take an RT-PCR test, but they must complete the 10-day facility quarantine even if they get tested negative for COVID-19.

For positive tests, Roque said that the swab samples will be immediately brought to the Philippine Genome Center in Quezon City to determine if the patients contracted a COVID-19 variant or not.
