MANILA--In a big news just as the PBA Friday triple-header concluded, the league announced that the Saturday showdown between Blackwater and Phoenix has been postponed.

The PBA, through a statement, explained, "The PBA game between [the] Blackwater Bossing and [the] Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters scheduled [on] July 31, 2021-Saturday at 2:00 PM will be postponed to a later date in accordance with the league's health and safety protocols."

It can be understood that the postponement is due to COVID-19 concerns, although the league did not disclose which team had such concerns.

Prior to the postponement, both Blackwater and Phoenix were looking to end their current slump in the Philippine Cup.

The PBA, on the other hand, assured, "The game between [the] Meralco Bolts and [the] Alaska Aces will push through at 4:30 PM."
