MANILA--Alaska and Magnolia will lock horns earlier than expected as they will now headline the PBA Wednesday night doubleheader at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Initially scheduled to meet on Aug. 13, both the Aces and the Hotshots will now face off at 6 p.m. Wednesday after the league announced that their originally scheduled matches for the said day have been postponed.

Alaska was supposed to meet Terrafirma, while Magnolia was scheduled to face TNT.

However, some members of the Tropang Giga have tested positive for COVID-19.

"Four TNT Tropang Giga players have returned tests that were either positive or need to be confirmed for COVID-19 under government approved league protocols," the PBA said in a statement on Tuesday.

The league added, "They are now isolated and will be tested again. The rest of the team who tested negative are also isolated and will be retested."

For being TNT's opponent on Saturday, Terrafirma players have to be isolated too, but according to the PBA, "[The] Terrafirma Dyip all tested negative," although they too have to be retested as well.

The Dyip-Aces and Tropang Giga-Hotshots games will be rescheduled to a later date.

Alaska and Magnolia look to join opening weekend big winners Meralco and Rain Or Shine at the top of the standings at 2-0.

Meanwhile, Phoenix and NorthPort will face off as scheduled on Wednesday as their 3 p.m. game has not been affected by the fixture change.
