TNT stifles ROS in return to action

MANILA--Despite being sluggish in its return to action, TNT still found its way to score a win by downing Rain Or Shine, 79-69, on Friday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

In their first game back after a surprise two-week break due to positive COVID-19 cases within them, the Tropang Giga made up for their spotty offense with a tremendous defense on the Elasto Painters, keeping them to less than 20 points in each of the four quarters.

In particular, TNT held ROS to just 34 percent shooting all game long two days after the latter only made a shade under 21 percent against Alaska.

RR Pogoy and Troy Rosario each scored 13 points with the latter grabbing 14 rebounds for the double-double for the Tropang Giga, who are now 2-0 in the standings.

Javee Mocon had 22 markers, five boards, and three dimes for the Elasto Painters, who lost for the second straight time after a 3-0 start.
