MANILA--Chris Bitoon took over for Basilan in the Mindanao leg finals of the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup.

Bitoon, who played backup to regular-season MVP Hesed Gabo, fired 4-for-6 from beyond the arc in Game 1 of the best-of-three series against Roxas, which became vital in Basilan's blowout win.

Bitoon struggled a bit in scoring in Game 2, only making 2-of-8 from the field, but he made up for it with his facilitating prowess, dishing out eight assists while helping the Peace Riders pull away from the Vanguards in the second half to sweep the series and the entire Mindanao leg too.

Bitoon's impressive offense earned him the Finals MVP honors as awarded on Monday night right after Basilan was given the Mindanao leg championship trophy.

Bitoon averaged 15.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game in the championship series.

Up next for Basilan is the grand finals of the VisMin Super Cup, in which the team will take on Visayas leg winner Mandaue in a best-of-five series starting on Wednesday night at the Pagadian City Gymnasium.
