MANILA--TNT shut down Phoenix in the endgame to complete an 84-80 comeback win in the nightcap of the PBA Philippine Cup doubleheader at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on Sunday.

Troy Rosario eventually won it for the Tropang Giga with a go-ahead layup with 1:52 left, but it was their stifling defense on the Fuel Masters in the final 3:09 of the game that decided the clash as the PLDT franchise moved up to 3-0 in standings.

Down 70-77 with seven minutes left in the game, Rosario took over for TNT, scoring eight straight points even as an RR Pogoy layup capped the team's 10-0 rally that put the team up, 80-77, with 3:52 remaining.

RJ Jazul snapped the run with a three pointer that tied the game up, 80-all, with 3:09 left, but it turned out to be Phoenix's last made shot in the game as Rosario put TNT back ahead with his clutch layup with 1:52 remaining.

The Tropang Giga had a hard time closing out the game as they could not buy a basket after Rosario's layup, and Jason Perkins still had a chance to force overtime only that he missed his game tying layup.

Kib Montalbo finally sealed TNT's win with two free throws with only one second left, capping the team's endgame 14-3 run.

Rosario finished with 15 points on 5-for-8 field goals, eight rebounds, and one assist for the Tropang Giga.

Pogoy added 13 points, four rebounds, one assist, and three steals.

Matthew Wright put up 15 points, five rebounds, and three assists to lead the Fuel Masters, but he committed seven of their 21 total turnovers.
