MANILA--NorthPort's campaign in the PBA Philippine Cup has been stalled for too long especially when its return was delayed by a full week due to COVID-19 concerns within its camp.

But when the team came back on Thursday night, it seemed like there was no rust at all.

The Batang Pier returned with a bang, taking down the still winless Blackwater Bossing, 98-73, at the Don Honorio Ventura State University Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.

NorthPort zoomed ahead in the third quarter, outscoring Blackwater, 30-13, before inflicting more damage in the fourth quarter.

Jamie Malonzo and Robert Bolick each scored 17 points to lead the Batang Pier, who moved up to eighth place at 2-3.

Malonzo and Bolick each got a double-double too with 12 and 10 rebounds, respectively.

Bolick even had a shot for a triple-double as he too had seven assists, all in the first three quarters of play.

Greg Slaughter also tallied a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds alongside one assist, two blocks, and one steal.

Frank Golla made 14 markers, seven boards, one dime, and three steals for the Bossing, who dropped to 0-8.
