MANILA - After two losses from Week 1, Omega Esports finally badged into the win column as they send a resurging RSG PH team back to the drawing board with a two-game sweep on Week 2 of MPL-PH Season 8.
Omega retained four of their five from week one, replacing Hito with another newcomer in Raizen in the gold lane, while RSG PH kept their five that defeated Bren Esports.
Both RSG and Omega engaged in a back and forth game, taking each other's kills and taking down their respective objectives.
However, Iy4knu, who has his signature Esmeralda, became a thorn in the side of Omega as the RSG gold laner led the initiation in the mid to late game to establish map control, negating damages from Omega cores.
Omega took the lord as the two RSG heroes went down the count, but failed to end the game in the 21st minute as RSG, led by Demonkite, led the defense.
However, a failed lord attempt and a team clash costed Nathz as Omega took the level four lord and it was all Omega after 27 minutes.
RSG went for a Martis tank along with a jungle Paquito in the second game while Omega fielded a signature Kielvj Ling along with a mid lane Beatrix for E2MAX.
Omega and RSG again went head-to-head to start the second game before the Smart-backed side took control of the map after slaying two turtles of a possible three.
Kielvj secured the lord for Omega but Iy4knu and Aqua's combo equalized for a kill, however the lord take also meant a top lane exposure for the RSG base.
However, RSG eliminated everyone but E2MAX after a clash in the mid lane, but with the RSG based exposed and trickling down, they were forced to retaliate as the rest of the Omega players respawned.
With the game clock striking the 18th minute, Kielvj and company secured a kill to Nathz and the luminous lord, en route to the first sweep for Omega Esports despite being inferior in kills, seven to 16.
Omega will try to make it 2-2 as they will take defending champions Blacklist International while RSG will try to bouncer back against a resounding Echo squad.
