MANILA--Pampanga continued its domination in the NBL Chairman's Cup with a second straight 40-point win, this time manhandling Laguna, 116-73, on Sunday night at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando City, Pampanga.
A night after mauling the Mindoro Tamaraws by 47 points, the Delta, the league's defending champions, stomped their class anew at home by crushing the Pistons.
Just like Saturday night, Pampanga waxed hot in the first half, already tallying 67 points against just 37 from Laguna.
The scoring slowed down a bit for the Delta, but their huge lead, which they even stretched to as high as 47 points, was still enough to deliver them to the win.
Levi Hernandez fired 35 points on 13-of-18 field goals, three rebounds, four assists, and four steals for Pampanga, while CJ Gania added 13 points, seven rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block.
Alex Junsay made 18 markers, five boards, and one steal off the bench to lead Laguna.
