MANILA—If plans push through, two more sports legends might get their own commemorative stamps very soon.

Postmaster General Norman Fulgencio bared on Saturday that former world champions Paeng Nepomuceno and Efren "Bata" Reyes are among those possibly next in line as the Philippine Postal Corporation continues its "Salamat: Pagpupugay sa mga Alamat" stamp series honoring modern-day Philippine heroes.

"Yung dalawa, nakausap ko. Medyo naiyak sila na finally, na-notice sila," Fulgencio relayed how the sports legends reacted when they heard the news from him.

The PHLPost chief then said that another event is set for Nov. 10 at the agency's office inside the Manila Central Post Office honoring "10 world-renowned Filipinos."

Nepomuceno, who many consider as among the greatest bowlers of all time, and Reyes, who carved a legendary career of his own in billiards, are initially listed among the 10.

The Salamat series kicked off on Saturday with the unveiling of the commemorative stamps paying tribute to Philippine basketball legend Robert Jaworski.
