MANILA--Dodging some bullets early into extra time, the Azkals Development Team broke through late into the extension and stole a 2-1 win against Stallion Laguna in the semifinals of the Copa Paulino Alcantara on Tuesday night at the PFF National Training Centre in Carmona.

In danger of having to play the penalty shootout without its main gunner Jarvey Gayoso, who left the match during regulation due to an injury, the ADT found the needed offensive gem in Yrick Gallantes.

Gallantes scored a low header off a cross from Oliver Bias in the 116th minute to eventually give the ADT the first spot in the Friday night final.

Gallantes' goal capped a sequence of heartbreaks for Stallion Laguna, who botched three chances to take the lead early into extra time thanks to the heroics of Quincy Kammeraad.

Finn McDaniel had arguably Stallion Laguna's easiest chance at goal as he found himself going one-on-one with Kammeraad, but the latter saved McDaniel's attempt.

Nathan Alquiros then tried one from the left side of the box, but Kammeraad was there again for the save.

Alquiros had one more try, this time getting the ball past Kammeraad, but the latter's challenge was just enough to force Alquiros to send the ball off right.

Gayoso eventually forced extra time with his 66th minute header that canceled Abe Placito's 53rd minute opener also through a header goal.

The ADT will face the winner of the other semifinal between Kaya Iloilo and Cebu FC.

The Kaya Iloilo-Cebu match is kicking off later Tuesday.
