NorthPort continues shuffle, sends Sidney Onwubere to Ginebra for Arth Dela Cruz

MANILA--For the second straight day, NorthPort consummated another 1-for-1 trade.

The Batang Pier this time agreed on a straight-up deal with Barangay Ginebra, swapping Sidney Onwubere for Arth Dela Cruz.

The PBA trade committee approved the trade on Tuesday.

While NorthPort's previous trade, the Vic Manuel-Arwind Santos trade with San Miguel, looks fair enough on paper, the Onwubere-Dela Cruz deal is an interesting one.

Dela Cruz never got to play for Ginebra during the entire Philippine Cup this season, although he was with the team when it won it all last year during the Angeles bubble.

Onwubere, on the other hand, was among those whose numbers improved for NorthPort also the last conference, averaging 9.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.8 blocks a game in 13 outings.

With Onwubere suiting up for the Gin Kings, Coach Tim Cone got an additional arsenal at the small forward spot.
