TNT, Purefoods grouped together in PBA 3x3 opener

MANILA—The TNT and Purefoods franchises will get a quick PBA Philippine Cup Finals rematch... in half-court play, though.

The Tropang Giga and the Magnolia Hotshots' 3x3 affiliate, which would be known as the Purefoods TJ Titans, will get an early face-off as they are grouped together after the Leg 1 draw for the inaugural PBA 3x3 season on Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

TNT and Purefoods will headline Pool A, which has five teams in it.

Joining the two teams are Limitless, Phoenix's sister team, and guest clubs Zamboanga and Platinum Karaoke.

The other guest team, Pioneer Epoxy, has been placed in Pool C together with NLEX's affiliate CAVITEX, NorthPort, and San Miguel.

The all-PBA mainstay Pool B consists of Ginebra, Terrafirma, Meralco, and Sista, Rain Or Shine's affiliate.

The first leg of the new professional 3x3 league will commence on Friday at the said arena, about a week before the PBA's 5-on-5 play is expected to resume with the Governors' Cup.
