VisMin Cup opens 2nd conference

PAGADIAN CITY--The Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup opened its second conference in a simple ceremony held at the Pagadian City Gymnasium, Saturday afternoon.

Defending champions Basilan BRT Peace Riders will start their title retention bid later in the day against the Iligan Archangels.

Capping the opening day festivities will be the host team Pagadian Explorers against Roxas Vanguard.

Rounding out the participants are Kapatagan Buffalos, MisOr Kuyamis, and newcomer Zamboanga Sibugay Amin Warriors.

The final lineups and schedule was only finalized after the team manager's meeting held on Friday evening.

In the opening that saw representatives from the teams' parade, newly-promoted League Chief Operating Officer Chelito Caro said it's gonna be a tough road to the championship.

"I'm so excited sa magandang bakbakan na mapapanood natin simula ngayon," he said. "I hope we enjoy and bakbakan ito for the second conference."

On the other hand, Chief Executive Officer Rocky Chan took the opportunity to thank the teams for supporting the league.

"To all the teams thank you. Salamat sa inyong tiwala sa Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup. This is a family," he said.  "Ito ang liga para sa Visayas-Mindanao. Ito ang Chooks-to-Go PIlipinas VisMin Super Cup.

Pagadian do-it-all guard Keanu Caballero led the oath of sportsmanship.

Sen. Bong Go, Pagadian mayor Sammy Co, and Games and Amusements Board commissioner Edward Trinidad also sent their regards to the regional pro league.
