PASAY--Orlan Wamar sizzled for San Juan and led the team to a resounding 97-64 rout of Valenzuela to start Pool C action in the Chooks-to-Go MPBL Invitational on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Wamar finished with 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting including 7-for-9 on threes to pace the Knights, who clobbered the Classic from the get-go and even had the final margin as their largest lead.

Arvin Gamboa and Jason Melano each added 11 points.

Kevin Villafranca fired 14 markers with seven boards, three dimes, one steal, and one block for Valenzuela, whose core played for the first time since representing Talisay in the Visayas leg of the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup last May.
