MANILA--San Miguel will be leaving 2021 with a winning run intact after romping Terrafirma, 100-88, in their PBA Governors' Cup match on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The Beermen asserted their dominance over the Dyip from start to finish, gradually building a lead as high as 23 points early in the fourth quarter.

Terrafirma mounted a comeback attempt, trimming the lead down to six, 94-88, with 1:54 left, but SMB ended the game with a 6-0 run to finally seal the win.

Brandon Brown and Terrence Romeo each made 23 points for the Beermen, who are now on a three-game winning streak after a 0-2 start.

Brown also had 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Romeo, meanwhile, had his last four points from the game-deciding 6-0 stretch.

Juami Tiongson fired 21 markers, five boards, and three dimes for the Dyip, who fell to 1-4 following their third straight loss.

The game was supposed to be Alex Cabagnot's first game against his former team, but he was ruled out of the contest due to an Achilles tendon injury.
