MANILA—Kai Sotto showed his might in his first game back for Adelaide in the Australian NBL, but the team could not get a grasp of glory at home and fell prey to Melbourne, 78-97, on Saturday at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Sotto played for 16 minutes off the bench and made six points on 3-for-5 shooting including two dunks, eight rebounds, and one steal for the 36ers.

However, they struggled to get past United despite keeping the game close for most of the first half even as the visiting squad pulled away for good with a 25-14 fourth quarter.

Jo Lual-Acuil and Chris Goulding each scored 18 points for Melbourne, which won for the seventh straight time following a 0-2 start even as the team solidified its hold of the top spot in the team standings.

Cam Bairstow also had 18 markers alongside eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal to lead Adelaide, which fell to 3-4.
