MANILA--The Philippine women's football team's historic qualification for the FIFA Women's World Cup got a commendation from no less than the vice president herself.

In a video message on Monday, Vice President Leni Robredo congratulated the Malditas for earning a place in women's football's ultimate tournament by beating Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals of the AFC Women's Asian Cup.
