MANILA—Meralco used a furious mid-fourth quarter rally to swing the momentum from Rain Or Shine before holding them off for a 93-88 win in the PBA Governors' Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Down 68-72 with less than nine minutes left, the Bolts went on a 21-8 run to open an 89-80 lead with 3:24 remaining.

The Elasto Painters tried to crawl back into the game with an 8-1 run that cut the lead down to two, 90-88, with 20.1 seconds remaining.

But off a timeout, Bong Quinto found Chris Banchero open off a cut, and the latter converted the dagger layup for Meralco.

Tony Bishop recovered from a slow start and led the Bolts, who bounced back from their shock loss to the NorthPort Batang Pier and moved up to 5-1 in the standings, with 26 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block.

Allein Maliksi added 19 points, six rebounds, and one assist.

Henry Walker 24 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, while Mark Borboran tallied his own double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds with two steals for the E-Painters, who fell to 3-5.
