MANILA--The PBA board of governors will hold an emergency meeting regarding the league's part in bolstering Gilas Pilipinas for the February window of the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.

Returning Gilas coach and concurrent TNT mentor Chot Reyes has formally proposed to the PBA his plan to recruit some of his Tropang Giga players for national team duty.

Commissioner Willie Marcial confirmed to Dugout Philippines on Wednesday night that the board meeting is set for Friday.

According to Marcial, should the PBA board approve Reyes' proposal, TNT might be the busiest team in the first two weeks of the Governors' Cup restart.

"Paglalaruin na agad namin ang TNT sa Governors' Cup resumption, four to five games, para pagdating ng FIBA qualifiers, libre na ang TNT players," Marcial said earlier Wednesday through the PBA website.

Good thing for the Tropang Giga, the Gilas players to be chosen would quickly get significant arena familiarity as the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, the venue for the PBA resumption starting on Feb. 11, will also host the WCQ February window from Feb. 24-28.

Gilas will play four games in five nights including two matches against South Korea with showdowns between India and New Zealand in between.
