MANILA--TNT finished strong in its grueling four-game stretch by taking down Ginebra, 119-92, in their PBA Governors' Cup showdown on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
With their key players suiting up for Gilas Pilipinas next week in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, the Tropang Giga got a major boost in terms of the national team's challenge against South Korea as their three-point shooting was solid against the Gin Kings.
TNT shot 21 threes out of 39 attempts the entire game, which helped the team slowly break away from Ginebra.
The Tropang Giga, however, pulled away for good in the second half after outscoring the Gin Kings, 59-39.
Mikey Williams fired 26 points on 10-for-19 shooting, five rebounds, five assists, and one steal for TNT, which will enter a two-week "break" in fifth place with a 4-4 record, winning back-to-back games after losing the previous two.
Ryan Reyes added 24 points on 8-of-9 shooting from downtown, two assists, and one steal.
Aaron Fuller put up a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds with two assists and two blocks.
Justin Brownlee made 25 markers, nine rebounds, and three dimes for Ginebra, which fell to a tie with San Miguel for sixth place at 3-3.
