MANILA--Adamson scored its first win with Nash Racela at the helm in style, dealing the University of the East an 82-66 beatdown to kick off Matchday 2 of the UAAP men's basketball tournament on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
The Soaring Falcons quickly turned their showdown against the Red Warriors into a blowout, outscoring them, 32-12, in the first quarter.
The rout was sealed in the third quarter when Adamson outscored UE, 26-10, to open a 76-42 cushion entering the fourth quarter.
The Falcons somehow messed up a bit in the final frame, only scoring six points, but their large lead was already too tough for the Warriors to overcome.
Jerom Lastimosa played a perfect game, making all of his four field goals and four free throws for 14 points alongside two rebounds, two assists, and one block for Adamson, which bounced back from its tough opening day defeat to National University on Saturday.
Keith Zaldivar added 11 points on three triples, two rebounds, and two assists.
Harvey Pagsanjan fired 17 markers with eight rebounds and one assist for UE, which played more dismal than its gallant fight against La Salle also on Saturday.
