MANILA, PHILIPPINES - Ateneo Blue Eagles remains undefeated with 79-70, against the pesky FEU Tamaraws, Tuesday afternoon at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Slow start at the first quarter as the Tamaraws start strong but Eagles didn't back down with the help of Dave Ildefonso, BJ Andrade and three-point baskets made by Tyler Tio.
Tyler Tio and Dave Ildefonso both chipped in 17 points, Tio's basket came from the three-point baskets that he shoot during the third quarter. BJ Andrade's comeback as he came from an ACL tear also chipped in 9 points for the Blue Eagles squad.
RJ Abarrientos led the charge for the Tamaraws with 16 points. Emman Ojuola and Royce Alforque both chipped in 15 and six points for the Tamaraws, but still not enough to beat the defending champion Blue Eagles.
Ateneo Blue Eagles (2-0) will try to stretch their winning streak as they will face the Adamson Soaring Falcons (2-0) while the FEU Tamaraws (1-1) will try to bounceback as they will face the DLSU Green Archers (1-0). Both games are on Thursday, March 31, 10 am and 1pm at the Mall of Asia Arena.
