UAAP S84: Ateneo takes first round of Battle of the Katipunan

PASAY CITY, Philippines - Defending Champs Ateneo Blue Eagles takes a win for the Battle of Katipunan 90-81, Saturday evening at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Dave Ildefonso's comeback as a Blue Eagle definitely help the Eagles win. SJ Belangel clutch plays also helps the Blue Eagles win against the Fighting Maroons.

Dave Ildefonso chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7/14 fg. Raffy Verano and SJ Belangel also chipped in 18 and 10 points for today's win.

CJ Cansino led the Fighting Maroons with 21 points but still not enough for the Maroons win.

Ateneo Blue Eagles (1-0) will try to stretch their winning streak as they will face the FEU Tamaraws (1-0) while the UP Fighting Maroons (0-1) will try to bounceback as they will face the UST Growling Tigers (0-1). Both games on Tuesday, March 29 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
