UAAP S84: Concepcion-led Growling Tigers gains first win against Warriors

MANILA, Philippines — UST Growling Tigers finally gain a win, as they beat the UE Red Warriors, 74-62, Thursday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.

UE Red Warriors has a strong start, up to the most of the second half, but the Growling Tigers bounceback and pull away, sizzles at the last quarter of the game. Sherwin Concepcion three-point baskets with the help of Nic Cabanero and Bryan Santos baskets, greatly help for the Tigers win.

Sherwin Concepcion led the Tigers win with career high 25 points, five rebounds, three assists, and 6/9 3 field goals. Nic Cabanero and Christian Manaytay both chipped in 12 points, for the tigers win.

Aurin Catacutan and Harvey Pagsanjan both chipped in 17 and 10 points for the Red Warriors but still not enough for a win.

UST Growling Tigers will face the Adamson Soaring Falcons while the UE Red Warriors will face the UP Fighting Maroons. Both games are on Saturday, April 2, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
