UAAP S84: FEU draws 1st blood in new UAAP season against rebuilding UST

MANILA, Philippines - Rookie RJ Abarrientos took charge for Far Eastern University as it opened UAAP Season 84 with a 76-51 win against rebuilding University of Santo Tomas on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. 

Abarrientos finished with 18 points and 5 rebounds in 20 minutes of action for the Tamaraws.

Joshua Fontanilla contributed 19 points while Nic Cabanero also got 12 points for the Growling, but they were not enough to keep them from getting blown out in their season opener.

The Tamaraws will face the Ateneo Blue Eagles, while the Growling Tigers will face the UP Fighting Maroons on Tuesday. Both games will also be at the Mall of Asia Arena.
