Adamson banks on Q3 storm to romp UST for 4th straight win

PASAY--Adamson pulled away in the third quarter to take down the University of Santo Tomas, 80-69, to start Matchday 11 of the UAAP men's basketball tournament on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Soaring Falcons outscored the Growling Tigers, 25-12, in the third period to broke loose after a close first half which seemed like another sign that the former will engage in a down-the-wire finish.

UST still tried to claw its way back to the game in the fourth quarter, but Adamson hung on and kept the huge lead at the end of the match.

Two nights after going clutch against the UP Fighting Maroons, Jerom Lastimosa had an explosive game this time for the Soaring Falcons, now winners of four straight games, leading the way with 24 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Vince Magbuhos added 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals as Adamson moved momentarily to solo fourth place at 5-6.

Joshua Fontanilla put up 23 markers, two assists, and one steal for UST, which fell to 3-8.
