STA. ROSA, Laguna—Cebu City Chooks prevailed in a tight showdown against Sansar MMC Energy, 17-15, in the final of the Chooks-To-Go FIBA 3x3 Asia-Pacific Super Quest on Saturday night at the Ayala Malls Solenad Activity Center.

Mac Tallo sizzled early but also came alive in crunch time as Cebu booked a place in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Manila Masters next month.

Tallo and Mike Harry Nzeusseu connived for the first six points for Cebu as the team surged ahead early on.

But as scoring slowed down mid-game, Sansar, behind the brilliant scoring of Enkhbaatar Onolbaatar, crawled back into the game and even took a 14-13 lead with 2:36 left.

Tallo, however, buried a go-ahead triple with 2:03 left and a dagger layup with 1:16 to go.

Cebu then leaned on its tough defense down the stretch as Sansar could not buy a basket as time ran out on them.

Tallo finished with eight points, while Nzeusseu added seven and Zach Huang and Brandon Ramirez each scored two points for Cebu, which also won US$10,000 (around PHP500,000) as top prize.

Onolbaatar tallied eight markers for Sansar, which settled for the US$5,000 (around PHP250,000) runner-up prize.

Meanwhile, Aldous Torculas made headlines right before the final by winning the Slam Dunk Contest.

Torculas, who has committed to play for the University of the Philippines next UAAP season, edged out top Filipino dunker David Carlos in the dunk-off final to win PHP20,000.

The Scores:

Cebu 17 - Tallo 8, Nzeusseu 7, Huang 2, Ramirez 0.

Sansar 15 - Onolbaatar 9, Ariunbold 4, Batzorig 1, Avarzed 1.
