Ricci Rivero steals show in UP-FEU post-game, asks Andrea Brillantes to be his GF

PASAY--Zav Lucero put up a show for the University of the Philippines on Saturday night against Far Eastern University in the final game of the UAAP men's basketball tournament first round.

But the last laugh actually belonged to Ricci Rivero for non-basketball reasons.

Moments after the Fighting Maroons held off the Tamaraws for their first six-game winning streak since 2004, Rivero took the microphone at the Mall of Asia Arena's public address announcer table.

As it happened, two of Rivero's friends brought black t-shirts, one with a "Yes" label and the other with a "No", to the area at the lower box section where teen star Andrea Brillantes was sitting.

From there, the 23-year-old former Gilas Pilipinas cadet popped a question to the 19-year-old actress if he wants to be her boyfriend.

All's well that ends well eventually as Brillantes chose the "Yes" shirt.

Rivero and Brillantes, Anndrew Blythe Gorostiza in real life, have been rumored to be dating since the UAAP preseason, and the post-game moment confirmed all the speculations.

Rivero's "proposal" probably came at the right time.

The high-flying guard, who has been struggling so far this season, had his best night for the year, making 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists to backstop Lucero for UP.
