MANILA--Now it's the University of Santo Tomas' turn to go pink.
The Growling Tigers called on their fans on Tuesday to wear pink ahead of their UAAP men's basketball second-round game against the UE Red Warriors at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
The Tigers even said that this will be their call for the rest of the second round.
"In solidarity with the rest of the UAAP universities fighting for good governance, we highly encourage the Thomasian community to wear pink in the second round as a symbol of our quest for an honest government that will uplift the lives of the Filipino," the team said in a statement.
The UST studentry, like those of Ateneo and La Salle, has openly endorsed Vice President Leni Robredo as the next Philippine president ahead of the May 9 elections.
On Monday, both Ateneo and La Salle called on their fans to wear pink too ahead of the teams' game later Tuesday.
For the second round, tickets for the night games will be separate from those in the daytime games, that is, tickets for the UST-UE game will be honored too for the Ateneo-La Salle game.
This means a sea of pink could be expected from Blue Eagle, Green Archer, Growling Tiger, and even Red Warrior fans when it's their turn to enter the MOA Arena stands.
