QUEZON CITY--PBA commissioner Willie Marcial is anticipating a more blockbuster series between Ginebra and Meralco as they meet in the Governors' Cup Finals for the fourth time.

During the pre-finals press conference on Monday at the Novotel Grand Ballroom here, Marcial sees the battles beginning on Wednesday night to be tight and could go down the wire.

"Epic saga ang mangyayari," Marcial said.

At the end of the day, though, the biggest winner of the championship series, according to Marcial, are the fans who will get to see a PBA finals game in the flesh again for the first time since the Governors' Cup for Season 45 in 2020, which interestingly enough was also between the Gin Kings and the Bolts.

"Ang makikinabang at matutuwa ay ang mga fans. Two years na tayong di nakakapag-live ng finals. Ngayon lang uli makakapanood ang mga fans, so magandang treat ito sa mga fans," Marcial further said.

The series will begin at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum here, while Games 2 and 3 over the weekend will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay before returning to "The Big Dome" for Game 4 on Holy Wednesday.

If necessary, Game 5 will be held on Easter Sunday, Game 6 is on April 20, and the decider is on April 22.

But if Marcial is to be asked, he is not expecting one team to sweep the series.

"Palagay ko, long series ito," he further said.
