MANILA--The Philippines is now assured of a 1-2 finish in the Southeast Asian Games men's billiards event as Carlo Biado and Johan Chua set up an all-Filipino showdown for the gold following their semifinal wins on Tuesday at the Ha Dong Gymnasium in Hanoi.

Both Biado and Chua actually denied in the process a possibility of an all-Singaporean final with their victories.

Biado was the first to clinch a spot in the championship game, beating Aloysius Yapp, 9-7.

Biado actually reasserted his dominance over Yapp as the former beat the latter in the final of the US Open last year, which shot Biado to Philippine billiard stardom.

Chua then joined Biado in the SEA Games final after downing Lian Han Toh, 9-3.

Whoever among Biado and Chua will formally give the Philippines a men's billiards gold will be determined on Wednesday as they face off in the final.
