Late Jo Warren Bedia winner gives Stallion Laguna 3rd place finish in 'Copa'

By Ivan Saldajeno

CARMONA--Stallion Laguna banked on the heroics of substitute striker Jo Warren Bedia to take third place in the Copa Paulino Alcantara at the PFF National Training Centre here.

Bedia, who checked in for Oscar Delgado late into Stallion Laguna's battle for third against Dynamic Herb-Cebu, struck the game-winner just a couple of minutes after he came on to give the Binan-based club the 2-1 win.

Bedia never gave up despite John Zambrano showing his goalkeeping prowess in the clutch and slotted in the 88th minute go-ahead goal on his fourth try.

Abou Sy struck first for Stallion Laguna in the 17th minute, but Arda Cinkir equalized for Cebu in the 34th minute with a header off a set piece.

It was a sweet ending in style for Stallion Laguna, which was on the wrong end of a late winner on Tuesday night when Daizo Horikoshi won it for Kaya Iloilo in the semifinals.
