Melbourne sweeps Manila Masters qualifying round

PARAÑAQUE—Melbourne booked the last spot in the pool stages of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Manila Masters after sweeping the qualifying draw that kicked off the two-day event on Saturday at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay Activity Center.

Melbourne endured a gallant fight from Yokohama to take a 21-16 win.

Melbourne then completed the sweep by mauling Auckland, 21-10.

Auckland would defeat Yokohama, 21-10, in the consolation game to end the qualifying draw.

Melbourne will be placed in Pool B for the main tournament, joining Antwerp and Sansar.
