Ulaanbaatar clips Manila Chooks

PARAÑAQUE—Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy introduced itself to the crowd at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay Activity Center with a huge statement, taking down Manila Chooks, 22-11, in Pool D action of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Manila Masters on Saturday.

Ulaanbaatar sustained its strong offense from the start as Manila went cold mid-game thanks to its Mongolian opponent's defense.

Canadian 3x3 star Steve Sir sealed the deal for Ulaanbaatar by converting on a two-pointer with 4:08 to play in the game.

Sir led Ulaanbaatar with 11 points, while Dulguun Enkhbat added seven.

Delgernyam Davaasambuu chipped in three markers, while Otgonjargal Tsogt tallied one.

Henry Iloka led Manila Chooks with five points, Dennis Santos tallied four, and Chico Lanete got two.

In the other games, world no. 2 Antwerp began its campaign with a 19-15 win against Melbourne, while Liman clipped Gurugram, featuring PBA draftee RJ Ramirez, 21-16.
